After the 2008 worldwide recession, the US median household wealth never recovered from its 2006 peak of $210,000. Median household income could not keep up with real inflation rates, and household debt could not compensate for the reduced standard of living anymore. The ever-increasing prosperity trend of a half millennium, come by the grace of God and the economic and technological developments of the West, was over. The worship of man and money, the greed, the apostasy, and the debt-orgy had run its course. We carefully assess the reasons why faith lapsed and America came down, beginning with the third generation of Puritans. But the big reason is found in Deuteronomy 8:11-20.
