Action films have changed shape since the heyday of Stallone, Willis, Gibson, and Schwarzenegger. More women, more explicit gore, more ethical ambiguity, and more hard-edged nihilism all around. But, what about the vigilantism, the venge-fests, the blood lust, and the pride and reliance on self? Did they include God in the picture, or is all of this to the glory of man? Here is a worldview analysis of action films.
