California’s Governor Jerry Brown takes on a prophetic role, as he calls President Trump to the fear of the Lord, or a fear of the wrath of God. This liberal governor links the wrath of God to the fires in California. Indeed, God’s judgment has visited this nation this year. This year brought record hurricane damages and record fire damages — in the same year. Almost 10,000,000 acres have burned down, causing around $180 billion in damages. We contrast three explanations for the fires. The typical academic/media explanation that points to a chance universe, Jerry Brown’s explanation, and the Bible’s explanation for these natural disasters.
