A full 92% of American girls own a Barbie doll. What are parents thinking when they buy their little girls these anorexic, long-legged, sort of anatomically correct dolls? What lessons, what patterns, what standards are being trained into the minds of little girls? Turns out that the originator copied Barbie off a German Prostitute Doll used as a gag gift at stag parties. Now the feminists are upset that Barbie objectifies the female body, and created "the standard look" for girls in the 1960s, 1970s, 1980s, 1990s, and 2000s. Do Christians agree with feminists? Not exactly. We take a look at a biblical perspective of Barbie, body image, and objectification on this edition of the program.
